As a Regional Coordination Center (RCC), Coreso plays a crucial role in coordinating high-voltage electricity flows for European Transmission System Operators (TSOs), ensuring the security of electricity supply on a regional basis. Your new career in Coreso Coreso is an international SME located in the heart of Brussels’ European district. We are looking for a Power Systems Engineer with a passion for grid operations, energy security, and cross-border collaboration. In this role, you will play a crucial role in securing and optimizing electricity exchanges across Europe . Using advanced grid security analysis, capacity calculations, and coordination with TSOs , you will contribute to the stability and reliability of the interconnected European power system . Starting date estimated for April - June 2026 Let us give you a preview of your future mission! As a Power Systems Engineer, you will take part in both grid operations (shift-based) and project-based office work to ensure the stability of Europe's energy system. Shift Responsibilities (Grid Operations) Perform cross-border capacity calculations – Assess and allocate available capacity for energy exchanges between European countries. Monitor grid security – Analyze network conditions to detect and mitigate potential risks (e.g., overloads, instability). Implement emergency measures – Work closely with TSOs to apply coordinated remedial actions (network reconfiguration, redispatching, etc.). Utilize cutting-edge tools – Work with network analysis software, contingency analysis, and energy flow models . Office Responsibilities (Data Analysis & Project Work) Investigate past critical grid events – Perform post analysis of system disturbances and propose improvements. Contribute to strategic energy projects – Work on inter-TSO coordination, network planning initiatives, or energy security assessments. Support digital transformation – Engage in projects related to automation, AI-driven grid forecasting, or advanced data analytics for power systems. Represent Coreso in European working groups – Participate in initiatives related to power system security, capacity calculation methodologies, and future energy trends What are we looking for? A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Energy Engineering, or a related field. Ability to multitask in a high pressure environment while remaining calm and keep composure Knowledge of power system operations, load flow studies, and grid security analysis . Analytical mindset – Ability to interpret complex system data and make critical decisions under pressure. Problem-solving & communication skills – Work effectively with stakeholders across different countries. Minimum of B2 level in English (French and/or another European language is a plus).
