Description
We are looking for a Portfolio Risk Manager .   We’re launching a new business line in Mexico and looking for a strong leader to own credit risk end-to-end. You’ll set the risk vision, design frameworks, build and lead the team, and ensure sustainable portfolio growth while keeping losses under control.   Day-to-day responsibilities: Build from scratch: design credit origination policy, limit setting, pricing guardrails, early-warning triggers, and collections feedback loops Own risk metrics: manage risk appetite and ensure portfolio performance stays within it; maintain live dashboards and explain drivers of metric changes Portfolio analytics: perform segmentation, stress-testing, cohort analysis, and vintage tracking Team leadership: recruit, mentor, and develop analysts; foster a data-driven and experimentation-focused culture Cross-functional collaboration: embed risk controls in product specifications, customer journeys, and work closely with finance and 2nd line of defence teams The ideal candidate: 3+ years in product management or credit risk management focused on retail or consumer lending portfolios (banking or fintech) Strong understanding of scorecard design, ML techniques, and alternative data for credit decisioning Proficient in SQL and Python/R with hands-on experience working with data Proven leadership experience — managed teams, set OKRs, and developed analysts Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or Mathematics; MBA or CFA is a plus Strong technical or quantitative background with a strategic mindset B1 or higher English level for effective communication with an international team Our ways of working: Innovative Spirit: a commitment to creativity and groundbreaking solutions Honest Feedback: valuing open, transparent communication Supportive Team: a strong, collaborative community Celebrating Achievements: recognizing our wins together High-Tech Environment: a team full of smart and revolutionary people who date to challenge the status quo of incumbent finances Our benefits: Relocation support to Mexico with assistance for the employee and their family Flexible work: hybrid or full-time from our office in Mexico Healthcare Coverage Education Budget: Language lessons, professional training and certifications Wellness Budget: Mental health and fitness activity reimbursements Vacation policy: 20 days of annual leave and paid sick leave
