Description
Join the Market Leader in Electric Power Data and Analytics Solutions The electrical grid is the largest and most complicated machine ever built. Yes Energy’s industry-leading electric power trading analytics software provides real-time visibility into the massive amount of data generated by the North American electrical grid daily. Our unique and innovative view of the data informs real-time trading decisions and mid-to-long-term investment decisions that keep utility prices low, support the energy transition, and keep the grid running. It’s both challenging work and work with a purpose.   Be a part of our successful, growing business during international transformation. Position Summary We are hiring a Platform Engineer to help build and operate the core platform that powers software delivery across Yes Energy. This role sits within the Platform Team, part of the Product Technology Services (PTS) group, and is focused on the foundation our development and operations teams depend on: application platform support, CI/CD pipelines, containers and Kubernetes, observability, and infrastructure as code that is repeatable, safe, and secure. This is a hands-on individual contributor role. You will independently implement and improve meaningful parts of the platform, contribute to the patterns and standards the team works from, take part in design and code review, and mentor other engineers. We run a lean, high-trust operation, so we need someone who can self-direct, learn new technologies quickly, and exercise sound judgment about which technologies are genuinely beneficial — not just which are new. Success in this role means helping deliver a resilient, scalable platform that empowers developers and operators, accelerates delivery, and holds a high standard for stability, security, and observability.   Position Details Salary Range: Net 17.000 - 20.000 RON/month Location: Hybrid (Bucharest, Romania) Schedule: Full-time; 2-3 days in the office (at least 2 days overlap with US MT workday) Reporting to: Platform Engineering Manager Primary Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain the application platform — self-service tools, reusable patterns, and golden paths that let developers focus on building features. Build, improve, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows that make delivery faster, safer, and more repeatable. Operate and advance our container and Kubernetes platforms, with a focus on reliability, scalability, and developer experience. Build and maintain infrastructure as code that is repeatable, safe, and secure; Terraform strongly preferred. Strengthen observability across the platform using the Elastic Stack — logging, metrics, dashboards, and alerting. Work across cloud environments — Azure, AWS, and OCI — applying cloud-native patterns for compute, networking, identity, and cost-aware operations. Contribute to the team's standards and reusable patterns, take part in design and code review, and mentor other engineers. Evaluate and recommend fit-for-purpose tooling, balancing developer experience, operational simplicity, security, cost, and maintainability. Partner with other PTS teams to keep platform capabilities reliable, secure, and well integrated. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience. Five or more years of professional experience in platform engineering, infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, or software engineering supporting production systems. Strong, hands-on experience operating production cloud infrastructure, including compute, networking, identity, storage, and monitoring. Hands-on experience operating containers and Kubernetes in production. Strong experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation. Production experience with infrastructure
