Cardiologists are internal medicine specialists who care for patients at risk for and w/heart disease. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of coronary heart disease & failure, valvular heart disease, congenital heart disease, heart rhythm disorders. Cardiac electrophysiologists recognize normal and abnormal anatomy of the heart and the conduction system, general physiology and heart EP and basic mechanisms of rhythm disorders, syncope, sudden death and other arrhythmia disorders.
