Physician Assistant 2 COMPA Industries is searching for qualified candidates for an Occupational Medicine Physician Assistant position at Los Alamos National Laboratory in  Los Alamos, New Mexico. Salary: $61 - $67/hr Location: Los Alamos, New Mexico Citizenship: US Citizenship Required Impact As an Occupational Medicine Physician Assistant, you will play a critical role in protecting and promoting the health and safety of employees in a complex work environment. You will work closely with Laboratory occupational physicians to provide clinical care, address workplace medical concerns, support employee wellness initiatives, and ensure employees receive appropriate medical evaluation, treatment, and education. Your expertise will directly contribute to maintaining a healthy workforce and supporting mission-critical operations. Responsibilities and Duties Assist Laboratory occupational physicians in providing occupational health services. Carry out medical treatments and clinical evaluations. Determine and arrange appropriate patient dispositions and follow-up care. Identify, assess, and help correct workplace medical issues. Counsel and educate employees on occupational and personal health-related matters. Evaluate medical data and patient information to resolve a broad range of occupational health concerns. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders regarding employee health matters. Exercise sound clinical judgment in selecting appropriate methods and techniques for patient care and workplace health solutions. Independently plan, prioritize, and organize activities to meet established objectives. Contribute to organizational goals through effective occupational medicine practices and recommendations. Minimum Qualifications Board Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Licensed to practice medicine by the New Mexico Board of Medical Examiners. Current New Mexico pharmacy license. Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license. Working knowledge of and demonstrated proficiency in occupational medicine with 2–5 years of recent clinical experience in occupational medicine; or Working knowledge of and demonstrated proficiency in a clinically related field such as family medicine, emergency medicine, urgent care medicine, internal medicine, or sports medicine with 2–5 years of recent clinical experience. Demonstrated ability to analyze clinical information and resolve a diverse range of complex healthcare issues. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Desired Skills Strong occupational health and workplace injury management experience. Excellent patient counseling and communication skills. Experience educating employees on health and wellness topics. Ability to build effective working relationships with physicians, employees, and organizational stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated sound clinical judgment and decision-making abilities. Experience managing multiple priorities in a dynamic healthcare environment. Education and Experience Requirements Board Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) through NCCPA. Licensed Physician Assistant in the State of New Mexico. Current New Mexico pharmacy license and DEA registration. 2–5 years of recent clinical experience in occupational medicine or a related clinical specialty including family medicine, emergency/urgent care medicine, internal medicine, or sports medicine.
