We appreciate the individuality of the people around us.   JOB SUMMARY: The Performance Assessment Engineer supports the analysis and evaluation of system performance for the program. This role focuses on developing analysis tools, assessing system behavior, and partnering with cross-functional teams to translate findings into actionable improvements. SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Develop software tools for ad-hoc post-processing analysis and visualization of system performance Track program development updates and analyze results to detect regressions following code changes Perform in-depth performance analysis using Technical Performance Metrics (TPMs), Special Interest Items (SIIs), and other defined measures Evaluate system performance across parameters such as timing, track quality, discrimination accuracy, and related metrics using large datasets Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conduct deep-dive performance investigations Act as a technical liaison between analysts and developers, translating analysis findings into actionable development tasks Create analysis documentation and briefing materials, including detailed presentations for internal and external stakeholders REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Experience in software engineering and development Programming experience in Java, C++, Python, or similar languages Experience with database management, networking, or data communications Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) Experience developing tools and products to support system analysis or assessment, preferably using Java or Python Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, HTCondor, GitLab, or similar Knowledge of statistical analysis methods, including hypothesis testing, model validation, inferential statistics, confidence intervals, and goodness-of-fit interpretation Experience with systems engineering for
