Lumos is looking for a full-time OSP Project Engineer ! If you’re an experienced FTTH design & construction engineering professional who’s excited for a fast-paced experience, ready to help us grow, and ready to recommend process changes that ensure we’re harnessing our technology to the best of our ability while broadening our ability to set up and maintain our service, we want to hear from you! As an OSP Project Engineer, you’ll plan & prepare drawings for construction of new, overhead, or underground links, cables, & conduits to obtain optimum and economical utilization of communications facilities. The OSP Project Engineer is responsible for selecting the most cost beneficial route for all lines and equipment for projects – making sure that our network expands throughout the regions we’re privileged to serve. Essential Functions Prepares detailed construction & installation drawings - designing fiber cable fields, splicing sequences in alignment with Network Planning. Provides estimates of labor and materials costs and design loss calculations. Maps and drafts utilizing CAD & manual processes - researches & updates International Construction Measurement Standards (ICMS) records, appropriate permits, and ISP designs. Manages & tracks OSP work schedules to ensure alignment with project requirements and timelines: develops cost studies, performs estimates, reports on project progress, as well budget forecasting, tracking, & reporting. Liaises with city officials to manage permitting processes and ensure compliance. Liaises with customers regarding land acquisitions for easements. Provides real-time direction to colleagues to meet project timelines & contractual obligations. Communicates & escalates contractual, technical, or scheduling requirements that are in jeopardy or
