Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Manager to oversee the production and management of their nursery operations. This role entails the supply, propagation and management of all soft fruit plants. Key Responsibilities: Management of nursery operations, including propagation process and meeting daily targets. Monitoring and maintaining optimal growing conditions, irrigation and husbandry. Provide training and oversight to supervisors in nursery regarding job specification. Implement and oversee the integration of new technologies to enhance productivity. Coordinate with logistics to ensure timely and accurate dispatch of plants to customers. Monitoring budget and resource allocation for nursery activities. Ensuring compliance with legal requirements and safety standards. The successful candidate will drive best practices in nursery management to ensure high-quality plant production while fostering a positive work environment. Requirements • A Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture or Agriculture. • At least 3 years’ experience in a commercial nursery and or an intensive substrate propagation facility. • Knowledge or experience in tissue culture production would be beneficial. • Must have a passion for growing with high attention to detail. • Proven ability to work under pressure. • Outstanding organisational skills. • Computer literacy is essential with good working knowledge of Microsoft packages. • Previous exposure to the management of a substantial workforce will be beneficial. • Exillent communication skills is a requirement. • A system driven procedural approach by nature will be beneficial to the candidate. • Driving licence & own transport to get to work.
