Metro Vein Centers is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and ongoing management of our network infrastructure across 70+ clinic and corporate locations. This is a newly created role driven by our strategic initiative to modernize network architecture, improve internet reliability, and transition toward a cloud-first, zero trust security model.
You will own network performance across our clinic environment, drive the evaluation and deployment of cloud security solutions (Zscaler and Fortinet), and serve as a key technical partner to the broader IT and security teams. This role is critical to enabling reliable clinical operations and supporting our continued expansion.
What You'll Do
Design, implement, and manage network infrastructure across 70+ clinic and corporate locations
Lead a networking strategy and deployment using Fortinet and Zscaler, ensuring optimal performance, redundancy, and failover across clinic sites
Administer and optimize Zscaler ZIA for secure internet access, zero trust network access, and SaaS application control
Manage firewall policies, centralized configuration, and firmware lifecycle across the environment
Implement and maintain internet redundancy strategy (fiber primary, coax/5G failover) across Tier 1 and Tier 2 clinic sites
Monitor network health and performance using available tools; identify and remediate root causes of clinic slowness, outages, and disconnections
Establish and maintain network standards, documentation, and configuration baselines across all sites
Define and report on network KPIs including MTTR, uptime, outage trends, and ISP performance
Partner with the security team to enforce ZTNA policies, access controls, and network segmentation
Support clinic technology deployments for new location openings and infrastructure upgrades
Manage vendor relationships with ISPs, Fortinet, Zscaler, and other network technology partners
Evaluate emerging technologies and provide strategic recommendations to improve network reliability and reduce operational overhead
Other related networking duties as assigned
Occasional travel for critical issues or growth
Being on call rotation
What You'll Bring
5+ years of experience in network engineering or network administration roles
Hands-on experience with SD-WAN technologies, particularly Fortinet SD-WAN (FortiGate, FortiManager)
Demonstrated experience deploying and managing Zscaler ZIA and/or ZPA in an enterprise or multi-site environment
Strong understanding of Fortinet product suite including FortiGate firewalls, AP’s, switches, and FortiManager
Experience designing and managing multi-site WAN environments with ISP redundancy and failover
Solid understanding of networking fundamentals: BGP, OSPF, VLANs, QoS, DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP
Experience with network monitoring and observability tools
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify root causes of complex network issues
Ability to work cross-functionally with IT, security, and operations teams
Strong documentation skills and ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Skills
Experience in healthcare or regulated environments (HIPAA)
Familiarity with zero trust architectu
