International Airport of Heraklion, Crete S.A. is currently looking for a: Mechanical Engineer (Maintenance) Responsibilities Transition / Pre-Opening Phase Prepares, reviews, and supports finalization of mechanical maintenance SOPs, procedures, inspection checklists, and work instructions. Reviews mechanical design documents, as-built drawings, O&M manuals, test reports, and supplier documentation. Supports mechanical asset handover from the Constructor, including documentation verification, defect / punch-list tracking, and follow-up of rectification prior to takeover. Participates in ORAT activities, including system trials, readiness inspections, failure simulations, snagging, and defect reporting. Supports preparation of maintenance-related inputs to the Aerodrome Manual and other certification documentation. Aids with CMMS setup for mechanical assets, including asset hierarchy, preventive maintenance tasks, spares, warranties, and inspection regimes. Operational Phase Supports operation and maintenance of airport mechanical systems, including HVAC, ventilation, pumps, and plumbing / drainage services. Plans, supervises, and monitors preventive and corrective maintenance activities under the direction of the Head of E&M - Maintenance. Investigates mechanical failures, supports root cause analysis, and implements corrective and preventive actions. Coordinates and technically follows up Mechanical Maintenance Technicians, contractors, and specialist service providers. Supports management of defects during the Defect Liability Period (DLP) and warranty periods in coordination with the Head of Technical Standards & Contracts. Maintains accurate records of inspections, defects, work orders, and maintenance activities in the CMMS. Coordinates with Operations, Safety, and other maintenance disciplines to support safe and continuous airport operations. Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, or Asset Management is considered an advantage 4-7 years of experience in mechanical maintenance of large-scale facilities, industrial plants, critical infrastructure, or airport environments Experience in CMMS, preventive maintenance planning, asset handover, or ORAT / commissioning support is an advantage Ability to prepare and implement maintenance SOPs, procedures, inspection regimes, and checklists Very good command of English and Greek language, both oral and written Competencies Excellent organizational and communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Good analytical and troubleshooting skills, including defect diagnosis and root cause analysis support Strong team orientation and goal-driven mindset Safety, compliance, reliability, and service-continuity mindset
