Description
Job Title: Component Responsible Engineer Location: Gothenburg, Sweden About the Role: We are looking for a Component Responsible Engineer to join our Base Engine team in Gothenburg and help us shape the future of combustion engines for heavy-duty trucks, buses, excavators, and boats. As part of the Engine Structure team, you will take ownership of non-moving engine components, including the cylinder block, cylinder head, flywheel housing, covers, and manifolds. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams and leveraging Volvo's networks to ensure all components meet our high standards. Key Responsibilities:
Oversee technical deliveries and maintenance for assigned components, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and quality requirements.
Drive component development and harmonize technical solutions in alignment with system road maps.
Collaborate closely with purchasing, operations, quality, and suppliers to achieve optimized component solutions.
Actively contribute to the team’s continuous improvement initiatives and Volvo's sustainable transport solutions.
Your Profile and Qualifications: To succeed in this role, you should have a keen technical interest, a strong team orientation, and a desire to contribute to cutting-edge engine development.
Educational Background: B.Sc. or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in designing casted components in metal or plastic.
CAD Proficiency: Skilled in Creo design software.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Experienced in working with multiple stakeholders in a Component Responsible role.
Language Skills: Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
