Role Summary The Material Engineer will be responsible for overseeing all material-related activities across the project, ensuring compliance with specifications, standards, and project requirements. This role involves evaluating material submissions, conducting inspections, coordinating laboratory testing, and ensuring that all materials used in construction meet the required quality benchmarks. The engineer will work closely with contractors, consultants, and internal teams to support successful delivery of infrastructure or building projects. Key Responsibilities Review and approve material submittals, technical data sheets, and samples. Ensure all materials comply with project specifications, international standards, and regulatory requirements. Coordinate and monitor laboratory testing of materials, including concrete, asphalt, soil, aggregates, and other construction materials. Conduct site inspections to verify material quality and proper storage, handling, and installation. Maintain detailed records of material approvals, test results, and quality documentation. Identify non-conforming materials and ensure corrective actions are implemented. Support value engineering initiatives and recommend alternative materials when appropriate. Participate in technical meetings, coordination workshops, and quality reviews. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to resolve material-related issues. Requirements Qualifications & Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. Minimum 12 years of experience in infrastructure projects. Strong knowledge of construction materials, testing procedures, quality standards, and utilities-related materials requirements. Experience conducting field inspections. Familiarity with international codes and standards (ASTM, ACI, BS, etc.), as well as local utility standards and ministry/specification requirements in Kuwait. Experience with concrete, asphalt, soil, and aggregates, including mix design. Experience coordinating with contractors, consultants, and testing laboratories. Experience participating in technical meetings and resolving material-related issues with multidisciplinary teams. Holds Kuwait Society of Engineers registration. Experience working on large-scale or complex developments is preferred. Benefits
