About the role: The primary purpose of this role is aimed at delivering, commissioning, and integrating the AIT (Assembly, Integration and Test) capability for the Boxer MIV programme. The role will be responsible for leading capital/engineering projects, ensuring the effective transfer and implementation of AIT production processes and equipment from our parent company in Germany, and driving line readiness for volume manufacture. Key duties include, but are not limited to: Lead the delivery, installation, and commissioning of AIT capital equipment, tooling, and facility modifications for the Boxer MIV programme to time, cost, and quality parameters. Act as the technical project lead for transferring AIT production processes, assembly concepts, and equipment specifications from our parent company in Germany to KNDS at Stockport. Manage machinery procurement cycles, including writing User Requirement Specifications (URS), conducting vendor technical reviews, and executing Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT). Drive project risk management, ensuring compliance with machinery safety, statutory legislation (e.g., PUWER, DSEAR), and Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) standards prior to handing over lines to operations. Coordinate cross-functional teams and external contractors during line setup, balancing, and ramp-up phases to ensure seamless handoff to production teams. Provide Design for Manufacture (DFM) input and manage engineering changes to ensure facility, tooling, and line readiness for product revisions. Support project management frameworks by developing, tracking, and reporting on capital expenditure (CapEx) schedules, project milestones, and technical risk registers. What we’re looking for: Candidates must have the following essential qualifications and experience: Educated to Bachelor level or equivalent, in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering discipline, or HND, or an Advanced/Higher Apprenticeship with significant relevant project experience Technical skill set developed in complex engineering environments Proven track record in project engineering, capital equipment delivery, or facility setup Experience in a similar engineering project execution role within an industrial or technical environment Understanding of Engineering Change management and CapEx project delivery lifecycles Operating in complex, multi-stakeholder or international organisations Structuring BOMs from Drawing to Manufacture for project implementation Computer literate (standard office and project planning tools) Knowledge of machinery safety compliance standards (e.g., PUWER, CE/UKCA marking) Working knowledge of use and development of MES systems Knowledge of vehicle build programs would be advantageous Experience in leading technical problem-solving teams and methodologies during project execution The following are desirable: Planning experience using SAP and Ideally Trained in SAP Setti
