Engineering Manager – PlayStation Portal Platform  Overview  Sony Interactive Entertainment is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead Platform Quality, Operational Excellence, and Engineering Productivity initiatives for PlayStation Portal based on AOSP.  This role is responsible for driving Platform Performance, Stability, Security, and Observability through data-driven engineering practices, automation, telemetry, and cross-functional collaboration across Platform, QE, Security, Infrastructure, and Product teams.  The ideal candidate combines strong technical leadership with exceptional people management skills and a passion for building highly reliable consumer products at scale. You will lead a team of experienced engineers while driving execution and continuous improvement of the PlayStation Portal platform used by millions of players worldwide.    Responsibilities  People Leadership & Team Management  Lead, mentor, and grow a team of experienced software engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, ownership, collaboration, and innovation.  Provide coaching, career development, performance management, and continuous feedback to support individual and team success.  Establish clear goals, expectations, and growth opportunities while ensuring team members feel valued, empowered, and heard.  Drive talent development, succession planning, and hiring efforts to build and maintain a high-performing engineering team.  Foster an inclusive and collaborative work environment that encourages creativity, accountability, and continuous learning.  Platform Performance & Stability  Lead initiatives to improve Performance, Stability, Scalability, and overall reliability of the PlayStation Portal platform.  Define and drive Platform Health KPIs and Operational Excellence objectives.  Identify bottlenecks and systemic issues through profiling, telemetry, benchmarking, and large-scale data analysis.  Drive root-cause analysis and long-term corrective actions for platform issues.  Establish measurable quality targets and continuously improve platform health and user experience.  Telemetry, Logging & Data-Driven Improvements  Design and implement telemetry, logging, observability, and monitoring systems across the platform stack.  Establish data-driven methodologies to continuously measure, analyze, and improve platform quality.  Build scalable data collection and analytics pipelines to generate actionable insights from devices, test environments, and CI/CD systems.  Enable engineering teams to make informed decisions through platform analytics, dashboards, and operational metrics.  Quality Engineering & Automation  Partner closely with QE teams to define measurable KPIs for Performance, Stability, Reliability, and Quality.  Integrate automated measurements, benchmarking, and validation into CI/CD pipelines.  Lead automation efforts for regression detection, performance monitoring, and platform
