About the job At Twilio, we are shaping the future of communications, empowering millions of developers and hundreds of thousands of businesses globally to build personalized customer experiences. We are looking for visionary, highly strategic Staff Product Designers (L4) to join our Channels UX team. In this role, you will serve as a foundational systems thinker and design leader overseeing Twilio's core communication products (including Voice, Email, and SendGrid infrastructure).   Rather than focusing on a single silo, you will help us treat channels agnostically to design cohesive, multi-channel journeys inside Twilio's modern One Console ecosystem. You will own information architecture, naming frameworks, complex API configurations, and developer workflows that establish long-term trust and usability for builders worldwide. This is a phenomenal opportunity to act as a principal design stakeholder, shaping high-growth product areas from their foundational stages while leveraging the scale of a world-class communication platform. Responsibilities Lead End-to-End Channels UX Strategy: Own the complete user journey and define the strategic user experience vision and long-term design architecture for Twilio’s core communications platforms and primitives. Drive Channel-Agnostic Coherence: Partner with design, product, and engineering leaders across Messaging, Voice, and Email to build unified, channel-agnostic configuration and observability narratives inside One Console. Translate Technical Complexity: Translate abstract telecom abstractions and technical infrastructure primitives (including APIs, SDK integrations, distributed data layers, and real-time streaming architectures) into clean, developer-friendly mental models. Establish High-Level Strategic Partnerships: Partner vertically and horizontally with Product Directors, Engineering VPs, and Architects to build shared roadmaps, negotiate technical constraints, and ensure high-fidelity design execution. Uphold Craft Excellence & Scale Design Systems: Actively participate in and scale the UX Design Feedback Process. Mentor junior designers, build reusable design frameworks, and drive structural change within a scaling UX organization. Define Observability Standards: Architect the design frameworks for high-density data visualizations, live charts, centralized logs, and real-time diagnostic dashboards that track performance and deliverability metrics. Qualifications Required: Work schedule: Full-time, US-based, remote. 8+ years of professional product design experience specifically focused on highly technical software products, developer tools, infrastructure, or complex B2B/SaaS platforms. Expert-Level Systems Thinking: A world-class portfolio demonstrating structural design, cross-product workflow mapping, highly complex data architectures, and an ability to unify fragmented platform experiences. Executive Cross-Functional Leadership: Proven success partnering directly with engineer
