Reporting to the Director, Cloud Operations, the Lead Cloud Operations Engineer is a senior-level technical role that is responsible for leading a team of engineers focusing on leveraging cloud technologies to build scalable, reliable, and efficient systems that meet the organization’s and clients needs. Your primary goal is to implement and ensure that the team is successful in following best practices in ensuring our client’s applications and services run smoothly in the cloud environment while optimizing performance, security, and cost-effectiveness in a customer facing role for our rapidly expanding infrastructure. Your responsible for the day to day technical tasks that your team performs, advocating for them, and connecting with management on how to enable and support the team to provide them with what they need to be successful, whilst rolling up your sleeves and working alongside them and your peers. Your provide guidance and leadership to more junior members of the team, to carry out the tasks and outcomes set by management.
What Will You Do?
Align with peers and management to ensure that best practices in cloud operations are maintained and adhered to
Provide technical guidance and leadership to team members and ensure they are on-track with day to day tasks
Support and align efforts to meet customer needs as a part of service delivery
Work with senior team members to learn, review, assess and improve infrastructure capabilities
Monitor and manage infrastructure, ensuring the highest levels of infrastructure availability
Install, configure, test, maintain , operating systems, application software and systems management tools
Document and review the design, operations and troubleshooting of technology platforms and procedures
Troubleshoot incidents reported on the infrastructure
Perform Root Cause Analysis
Create and review Root Cause Analysis documentation
Present analysis to internal and external stakeholders
Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions , and work with engineers to implement fixes
Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies
Author and maintain scripts to increase system efficiency
Identify , conceptualize and execute automation engagements
Communicate proactively with customers and internal team members to deliver business value as a part of daily work management
