Description
We are looking for a Junior Sales Development Representative to open doors for Famly. Doing heaps of stuff but mainly picking up the phone, standing out in crowded inboxes, and starting the conversations.  About the role You'll be the first point of contact for childcare settings. Your job is to spark genuine conversations with nursery owners and managers. The main way of working is through cold calls, thoughtful emails, and whatever creative ideas you dream up. Your main job is to book meetings for our Account Executives.  You won't be reading from a tired script; we'll help you find your own voice, because that's what actually works.  This is a brilliant first step into tech sales. You don't need a sales background, you need the appetite to learn, the resilience to hear no 1000 times and dial again. What you'll be doing: Cold calling nursery owners and managers. Starting warm, human conversations, not reciting pitches Writing outreach that stands out: no AI slop, no cookie cutter stuff Booking qualified meetings for our Account Executives and setting them up to win Researching prospects so every touch feels personal and relevant, not spray-and-pray Working smart with our sales tools and data to prioritise the right settings at the right time Testing, learning, and sharing what works. We need people who help shape our outbound playbook, not just follow it You'll thrive in this role if you: Are excited to pick up the phone and to start calling doesn't scare you, it energises you to see improvements call after call Find your own voice rather than hiding behind a script, you sound like you, and people warm to it Get creative when the obvious route doesn't work Work smart: you prioritise, use your tools well, and know that 50 thoughtful touches beat 200 lazy ones Communicate effectively in English  And it'd be even better if: You've worked in any role where you talked to people all day.  You know your way around a CRM or sales engagement tools or AI tools  You have a connection to the early years or education world The interview process looks like: A short intro call Ellie, the team’s People Partner A conversation with me (Bo), the Inside Sales Manager  A practical task — a mock cold call, so you can show us your voice in action (don't worry, we'll prep you) A final chat  If you've read this far and like what you've seen:   Please send us an application that feels like you. Even if your cover letter is short + sweet, it beats a long impersonal AI cover letter any day. About Famly  We're on a mission to stop admin work from stealing the joy of working with young children. We do that with our platform, the world's first proactive assistant for educators and staff that handles admin for them so they can get back to what they love, bringing joy and meaning that got them into working with children in the first place. How we work Famly prides itself on a few principles; we choose simplicity, we believe friendliness is a superpower, we set the pace, and we want everyone to be surrounded by talent. It all adds up to a culture that refuses to make employees choose between a place that is ambitious and sets the pace for what good looks like — and one that is a nice place to work. We think you can be ambitious and kind, and when you get to meet our team, we hope you'll agree. What we expect of you is that you make others shine, that you believe in being better than yesterday, and you are not afraid to just 'get it done'. Finally, we want you to value 'sitting in the tiny chair' — which means you look at your work through the impact it has on our customers: the people sitting in tiny chairs in childcare settings all over the world. What's in it for you? Competitive pension, private health insurance, and paid maternity/paternity leave.
