Description
MEDIATECH
Mediatech is one of the fastest-growing digital publishing houses, reaching over 25 million people every month across Cybernews, Wellness Pulse, InvestorsObserver, and our wider network.
We deliver trusted, independently researched insights across tech, cybersecurity, health, and finance. Our investigations have exposed major security issues at NASA, WhatsApp, ChatGPT, PayPal, LinkedIn, and the Red Cross, and uncovered the largest-ever password leak (RockYou2024).
We’re a team driven by curiosity, impact, and fast growth - and we’re looking for people who want to build with us.
IT DEPARTMENT
Our IT Team helps keep the business running smoothly by making sure employees have the tools, access, and support they need to work effectively. From onboarding and offboarding support to account administration, system ownership, asset lifecycle management, deployment, planning, and hardening, the team plays an important role in maintaining a reliable, well-organized IT environment.
As the first hire in this role, you will have the opportunity to bring structure, ownership, and consistency to day-to-day IT operations — working in tight collaboration with the security team to ensure a safe and well-governed environment. This is a great role for someone who is independent, practical, and comfortable taking responsibility in an environment where not every challenge is highly complex — but where reliability, initiative, and good judgment matter a lot.
YOU
You are a dependable and self-sufficient IT professional who enjoys keeping things organized, running smoothly, and under control. You are comfortable owning day-to-day IT operations, managing tools and access, and making sure employees get the support they need throughout their journey in the company — proactively aligning with individuals and teams on even the smallest changes to ensure smooth rollouts and reliable ongoing support.
You are confident working independently, collaborating with external IT support partners, and gradually taking over processes and responsibilities in-house. You do not need constant guidance, and you are equally comfortable handling routine operational work as you are improving structure and finding smarter ways to manage it.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Take ownership of day-to-day internal IT operations and help build a reliable, well-structured support function
- Manage company tools, user accounts, permissions, and access across different systems and platforms
- Support employee onboarding and offboarding by preparing accounts, access, equipment, and related IT setup
- Work closely with external IT support specialists and gradually take over selected tasks and processes internally
- Act as a key point of contact for employees on internal IT-related questions, requests, and basic troubleshooting
- Maintain order and accuracy across IT assets, accounts, permissions, and documentation
- Help ensure systems and access management processes are handled in a secure, timely, and consistent way
- Identify opportunities to improve IT processes, coordination, and day-to-day efficiency
- Support the wider business with practical, reliable IT administration and operational follow-through
WHAT WE EXPECT
- Experience in IT support, IT administration, workplace IT, or a similar role
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks and responsibilities
- Good understanding of user account management, access control, and common workplace tools and systems
- Experience supporting onboarding and offboarding processes from an IT perspective
- Confidence working with external vendors or support partners and coordinating tasks effectively
- Strong organizational skills and a structured approach to operational work
- A reliable, professional, and service-minded attitude
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to handle both routine and unexpected IT-related situations
- Comfort with a role that inc
