Learn more about our impact here: https://www.ark.international/impact About the Role The Interpreters provide essential interpretation and translation support to ARK training activities in Haiti. They will be responsible for delivering high-quality translation and interpretation services between English and French/French Creole for training materials, lessons and training. Their role will include both simultaneous and consecutive interpretation during sessions, as well as written translation of key documents, presentations, and participant materials to maintain consistency and clarity across all program components. What you'll be doing Provide simultaneous and consecutive interpretation during training sessions, workshops, and meetings. Translate training materials, presentations, participant handouts, and official project documentation between English and French/French Creole, ensuring linguistic accuracy and contextual relevance. Support trainers and facilitators in preparing bilingual session materials and assist with real-time clarification of concepts or terminology as needed. Maintain a glossary of key technical terms to ensure consistency in translation across project activities. Collaborate with the Project team to review and proofread final documents, ensuring adherence to project terminology and style standards. Participate in coordination meetings as required to plan and schedule translation and interpretation needs for upcoming activities. Ensure consistency and coherence with other interpreters across all training subjects to ensure standardisation. Participate in After-Action Reviews, weekly, monthly, end-of-course and ad-hoc meetings. Provide feedback on challenges, lessons learned and best practices. Work as a team to support the development and delivery of high-quality training. Adhere to project safety and security rules and requirements. Maintain the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct at all times, ensuring that all activities are delivered in accordance with ARK's policies, procedures, safeguarding requirements, and professional standards. Safeguarding Be aware of and comply with all the standards following Safeguarding procedures and policies. Promote ARK’s speak up culture in order to protect the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. Any other duties as appropriate to the position, as requested. Requirements Essential: Minimum of 7 years’ professional experience in verbal and written translation of English, French and Creole. Degree or certification in English language, linguistics or similar subject such as translation. Certification or formal training in interpreting or translation.
