Description
Summary
We are seeking a motivated Junior Project Leader Intern to support project coordination and execution within Quality and Manufacturing Engineering. This internship provides hands-on experience in leading and contributing to small-scale projects in a composites and wind energy environment.
As an intern, you will work closely with cross-functional teams including Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, and Technical Leadership to gain practical exposure to project management, quality systems, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
Support and assist in coordinating quality and continuous improvement projects, including helping develop project plans, timelines, and deliverables
Participate in and help document cross-functional sessions (e.g., FMEA, lessons learned, process improvement discussions)
Track project milestones, action items, and risks, and assist with status reporting to stakeholders
Support Quality Management System (QMS) documentation updates and control
Assist with tracking nonconformance reports (NCRs) and corrective/preventive actions (CAPAs)
Contribute to audit preparation and support internal/external audits (AS9100D / ISO 9001)
Help with data collection, analysis, and reporting using Excel, SharePoint, and Power BI
Collaborate with Operations and Manufacturing Engineering teams on project-related activities
Required qualifications
Currently pursuing (or recently completed) a degree in Engineering Management, Industrial Engineering, Project Management, or a related STEM field
Familiar with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with SharePoint or Power BI is a plus
Detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to learn in a hands-on environment
Strong communication and organizational skills
Able to work on-site in the New Orleans area for the duration of the internship
