We’re looking for an Assistant Sod Farm Manager to help oversee daily operations and support the production of high-quality turf-grass. In this role, you’ll work closely with the farm manager to coordinate crews, maintain equipment, and ensure efficient, timely harvests. As a Super-Sod Assistant Farm Manager, you will be responsible for leading machine operators and farm crews in the day-to-day operations of harvesting and other farm-related activities. You’ll play a key role in maintaining productivity and efficiency across the farm, ensuring that people, equipment, and materials are working in sync. Your leadership will help drive continuous improvement, with a strong focus on both customer satisfaction and team performance. Essential Functions Manages policy deployment in the areas of lean harvesting techniques, quality, cost reduction, complete and on-time delivery, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations, visual controls and performance measures. Provides leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training and development. Provides leadership for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships. Manages material requirements to increase inventory turns and reduce levels on hand. Ensures compliance with company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery. Balances work cell capacity/loading across the farm. Determines operations head count needs and ensures compliance with company policies. Research equipment for future company needs for capital investments and improvement projects. Manages compliance with state and federal regulations. Oversees operational proficiency of farming equipment in use for harvesting, mowing, spraying and fertilizing for production and training. Incorporates new technologies into all areas of our business.
