(Windows & doors, flooring, carpentry, kitchen installation, furniture/fixtures/bike assembly etc.)     You Shouldn’t Apply If:   - You prefer working where there are no customers to talk to   - You think that manual labor is for other people   - You’re not weather resistant (hot/cold depending on geography)    - You’re not likely to follow what you were taught in class and apply it with gusto        The Job:  - Install new garage doors for residential customers  - Remove existing door and mechanical parts   - Replace worn or broken door parts using tools  - Assemble mechanical parts   - Install springs, sections, slats, and hardware  - Run wiring to connect equipment  - Lubricate and test mechanical parts for proper functioning  - Educate customers on upgraded parts and services and ensure satisfaction  - Document activities related to installations    Basic Requirements:    - Be nice! I know, we shouldn’t have to say that, but we mean it  - Able to bend, climb, kneel and stand for long periods   - Physically able to lift 75lbs, lift garage door panels above head  - Able to stand on ladder  - Basic knowledge of hand tools (Power drill, hammer, saw  etc.)  - Valid driver’s license for at least 3 years with a clean driving record  - Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test (not including THC) and criminal background check  - Knowledge of basic software such as navigation apps, Google etc. as well as tablet and computer use   - GED or HS diploma not required, however reading skills as well as basic math skills (measurements, payments) are required    - Professional & approachable appearance  - Employment requires current eligibility to legally work in the United States     The Journey of an Installer:   - Our apprenticeship is a 4 week training program at the A1 Training Academy in Phoenix, AZ.   - A1 covers flights and accommodations for the duration of your training in Phoenix. (All apprenticeship/training weeks are paid at an  hourly rate of $20/hour. You will typically work 45-50 hours a week while an apprentice, and qualify for overtime for hours over 40 in a week, so should average $1,000 a week or more.) - Once you complete training, you will receive a $1,000 bonus, and graduate to a junior installer.
