ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking an HVAC Designer to join our team supporting the DOE's Y-12 National Security Complex! This position is full-time and will be based out of Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Responsibilities - Experience in HVAC Design and 3D Modeling. - Knowledge of related engineering systems, applications of engineering and construction methods and materials, and engineering application of computers. - Plan, self-perform tasks, and multi-task on multiple projects. - Present information clearly and effectively through the oral and written word and utilize automated workflow systems. - Coordinate verification and validation of documents with technical and operations personnel prior to release for approval and implementation. - Develop and maintain historical information. - Prepare, interpret, maintain, and incorporate requirements of technical drawings and operating documents. Requirements - Education & Years of Experience – Associate Degree in related discipline (HVAC or Fire Protection) with two or more years of progressive and relevant experience in HVAC and/or Fire Sprinkler System Design. - Citizenship – To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work. - Clearance – To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed. - 5+ years of progressive and relevant experience in HVAC Design and 3D Modeling. - Experience in Revit and Smart Plant is a plus. - Experience working with point clouds and 3D modeling software for multi-discipline projects. - Familiarity with Trane Trace (or similar programs). - Technical knowledge of related engineering systems, applications of engineering and construction methods and materials, and engineering application of computers. - Ability to plan, self-perform tasks, and multi-task on multiple projects. - Must be able to coordinate verification and validation of documents with technical and operations personnel prior to release for approval and implementation. - Ability to develop and maintain historical information. - Ability to prepare, interpret, maintain, and incorporate requirements of technical drawings and operating documents.
