Our SIS is a single database student information system that allows clients to manage marketing, recruitment, applications, course registration, billing, transcripts, financial aid, career tracking, alumni development, fundraising, student attendance and class rosters. It allows real-time access to data that is more accurate and available when our users it. Our SaaS model means clients don’t need to build and maintain an expensive and complex IT infrastructure. Our APIs and custom integrations will keep all their data in sync and accessible in real-time. Since the database is fully integrated, everything is updated in real-time and there’s no waiting for information. About the Role We are looking for a skilled Full Stack Java Developer to join our team and contribute to the development and modernization of enterprise web applications serving the United States higher education market. You will work across the full stack — building and maintaining server-side logic, designing database interactions, and developing responsive front-end interfaces. This is a hands-on role where you will collaborate closely with QA, product, and other developers to deliver high-quality, reliable software. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain web applications using Java, Spring, and Hibernate ORM Build and maintain dynamic front-end interfaces using Thymeleaf templates, JavaScript, jQuery, and CSS Write and optimize SQL Server queries, and database schemas Participate in the full software development lifecycle including requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and deployment Collaborate with team members through code reviews, sprint planning, and technical discussions Troubleshoot and resolve application defects across the full stack Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code following established team patterns and standards Contribute to the continuous improvement of application architecture and development practices Create and maintain technical documentation in Confluence Required Qualifications 5+ years of professional experience in Java web application development Strong proficiency in Java and the Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security) Hands-on experience with Hibernate ORM for data access and persistence Solid SQL Server skills including query writing, performance tuning, and schema design Experience building front-end interfaces with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/jQuery Familiarity with version control using Git Experience with Jira for issue tracking and project management Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team Comfortable working in Windows-based development environments Good written and verbal communication skills in English Preferred Qualifications Experience with the Thymeleaf UI framework Experience with jQuery DataTables or similar front-end data grid libraries Familiarity with RESTful API design and development Exposure to CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or similar tools Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development practices Familiarity with the Tapestry and/or Velocity UI frameworks Experience augmenting your development productivity using one or more AI tools Exp
