Description
The Company
At Nylas, we specialize in making it easier for developers to add email, calendar, and contact management features into their applications. We provide APIs, which streamline the integration of these functionalities, ensuring they are secure and effective. This enables better, safer, and more reliable communication within apps.
Supporting over 100,000 developers and collaborating with more than 900 companies globally, Nylas plays a pivotal role in how digital communication tools are built and utilized. Our technology spans various sectors, from healthcare to education, simplifying the complex process of app development related to communications. By reducing the barriers in communication technology, we empower developers to innovate and enhance user interaction across platforms.
The Team
We are a group of dedicated, analytical, and results-driven professionals who are passionate about driving financial strategy and enabling informed decision-making. We challenge ourselves and each other to think critically and grow both personally and professionally.
The Finance team plays a vital role in shaping the financial health and strategic direction of Nylas. We are trusted partners to the business, providing accurate forecasting, insightful analysis, and clear communication of financial performance. Our goal is to empower stakeholders across the company to make sound decisions, achieve strategic objectives, and contribute to a thriving organization – all while fostering collaboration and camaraderie.
The Role
We are looking for an FP&A Analyst who is sharp, resourceful, and genuinely comfortable using AI as a daily work tool. This is not a role for someone who waits to be directed. You will own models, build outputs, field questions from the business, and figure things out independently.
We’re looking for someone with a strong foundation in financial planning and analysis who can operate independently, structure models and analyses with confidence, and deliver insights without needing step-by-step direction.
We also value candidates who embrace AI as a standard part of modern finance work. At Nylas Finance, using AI effectively is an expectation, not a differentiator.
What You'll Do
The work spans the full breadth of FP&A at a high-growth SaaS company:
• ARR and revenue modeling: maintaining driver-based ARR forecast models, platform and product-level forecasting, and preparing data for system uploads
• Working capital and cash flow: building and maintaining dynamic working capital forecasts that tie to operational assumptions
• Customer and cohort analytics: ARR trending by customer segment, churn and expansion analysis, and retention metrics
• Variance analysis: budget vs. actual, period-over-period, and narrative commentary for exec and board audiences
• Ad hoc executive support: rapid-turnaround analyses and summary documents when leadership needs answers fast
How You'll Work
In this role, you’ll be expected to leverage AI tools as a core part of your workflow to improve speed, quality, and impact. This includes drafting summaries, building and refining model logic, transforming data, writing documentation, and producing presentation-ready outputs. Comfort with using AI to enhance your work is essential to success in this role.
What You Must Bring
- Educational and Professional Background:
- 2-4 years of experience in SaaS FP&A, preferably with experience working on the three statements. You’ve worked closely with department leads, built models to support decision-making, and are comfortable owning planning cycles end-to-end.
- Strong foundational knowledge of finance and accounting principles, with experience in forecasting, budgeting, and financial modeling.
- This role is ideal for someone in the early stages of their FP&A career who is ready to step into more ownership, work cross-functionally, and influence business decisions.
