THE ROLE We're looking for an iOS Engineer to craft a category-defining avatar fashion shopping experience. This role is in-person from our office in NYC. As Founding iOS Engineer you will… - Develop a native iOS app for our evolving product - Work with the founders to design and implement novel mobile experiences - Build and maintain high-quality, reusable, and testable code - Define mobile development processes - including planning, testing, releasing, and monitoring - Collaborate effectively in a shared codebase while upholding high coding standards - Optimize app performance and speed - Stay up-to-date with the latest iOS developments and best practices - Contribute to the overall product strategy and user experience You’re a great fit if you… - Have built consumer apps at scale - Have strong fundamentals and experience with the modern iOS stack (Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit) - Take pride in crafting intuitive user experiences, polished UI and maintainable, high-quality code - Understand low-level intricacies (Swift 6.0 concurrency) and know how to profile and measure app performance and speed - Apply Apple’s design principles and interface guidelines - Work with Git and Git flow methodology - Evaluate different design patterns and tradeoffs, specifically MVVM - Are self-driven, high-agency, and can master new skills quickly and deeply - Thrive on rigorous, fast-paced teams (startups or big tech) - Have genuine interest in fashion, avatars, or creative expression Bonus if you… - Have experience with WebSockets, HTTP, concurrency and multithreading - Have experience building complex, fluid UX animations in iOS - Have worked in fashion or consumer e-commerce
