Description
YOUR ROLE You will be part of one of the fastest growing consumer goods companies in the world with over US$3bn in revenue, and a plan to grow to $14bn by 2030. You will turn financial and commercial data into business insight that drives decisions across the Group — revenue, cost, margin, and everything between. You will partner with business teams, support ZURU's forecasting and planning cycles, and work with the data and AI tools that are transforming how Finance at ZURU works. HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT As a naturally AI curious and analytical person, you will work to distill complex financial and commercial data into clear, action-oriented analysis that informs decisions at the most senior level. Working directly alongside the Global FP&A Manager in Auckland, you will support performance reporting and planning across all of ZURU's divisions and collaborate with commercial, functional, and global finance teams to understand what is driving the numbers. You will drive efficiency by living in AI, leveraging off a team of AI specialists, to continually optimise our reporting and financial analysis. The role deliberately grows with you, so you will be learning at a pace unseen by any other NZ business. CORE ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Transitioning Excel reports into automated AI reports that deliver business insights real time. • Partner with commercial and functional teams across ZURU to understand what is driving performance, gather the context behind the numbers, and support decisions with clear financial analysis. • Analyse financial and commercial data — revenue, cost, margin, headcount — to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement across departments and business units. • Support the monthly management reporting process: performance reporting, variance analysis, and clear narratives that distil complex data into actionable insight for senior leadership. • Assist in the preparation of the quarterly rolling forecast, annual budget, and longer-range plans: collect business inputs, challenge assumptions, and build and maintain the underlying models and consolidations. • Prepare ad-hoc analysis and business cases for the FP&A Manager and senior leadership. • Support broader Group Finance activities as priorities evolve — including P&L and balance sheet reviews, month-end reporting, and other key Finance initiatives across the team. • Build strong working relationships and knowledge with ZURU's global finance teams, including our China-based finance team, developing a solid understanding of how the numbers are produced. • Continuously improve Finance's processes, data, and reporting: help automate recurring work, build self-serve datasets and reporting, and standardise templates and definitions across divisions — leveraging AI tools as a core part of how the team operates. • Champion ZURU's continuous-improvement mindset: constantly seek ways to optimise how Finance works and challenge the status quo. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED • A degree in finance, accounting, economics, commerce, information systems, or data analytics (CA pathway supported), but most importantly the right mindset to win and develop in an entrepreneurial high performance culture. • Strong Excel and financial modelling aptitude — and genuine curiosity and a keen-to-learn mindset for new tools: ZURU's Finance team works extensively with AI, and willingness to learn matters more than any specific software. • Commercial acumen and analytical instinct: you notice when a number cannot be right, and can say why in one sentence. • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear messages for a variety of stakeholders — your work will be read at senior leadership level. • A go-getter with energy, creativity and determination to continuously improve and push boundaries; a solutions-focused mindset with high levels of resil
