Company Overview At Terabase Energy, we believe digitalization and automation will help reduce the cost and improve the scalability of large-scale solar. Terabase is developing an interconnected software and construction automation platform to support the design, optimization, and construction of utility-scale solar projects worldwide. Our team includes solar industry veterans and newcomers — software, electrical, and mechanical engineers; product and project managers; and sales and marketing professionals — working together from Northern California and other locations around the world. Position Summary Terabase is hiring a Field Technician to install, instrument, operate, and maintain prototype hardware at our research and test sites. This is the hands-on field role that gets engineering hardware functional and instrumented for validation work. Location & Travel •        Primary location: Davis/Woodland, CA test site (Sacramento area). •        Travel to additional project test sites as required Responsibilities •        Install prototype hardware — including foundation work, structural assembly, mechanical components, and electrical hookup •        Install field instrumentation — strain gauges, load cells, accelerometers, weather monitoring, and data acquisition systems •        Execute daily test protocols and log results against acceptance criteria •        Support weld inspection and quality verification in coordination with our manufacturing team in Woodland •        Maintain field test equipment, prototype hardware, and on-site spare parts inventory •        Document field observations, photograph anomalies, and feed structured findings back to the engineering team •        Travel to project test sites Requirements Required Qualifications •        3+ years field technician experience in solar, wind, construction, or related outdoor industrial work •        Mechanical aptitude — proficient with hand tools, power tools, torque wrenches, and basic fabrication •        Familiarity with structural and electrical installation practices •        Valid driver's license; ability to travel to test sites •        Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, work outdoors in hot and cold conditions, and climb ladders Preferred Qualifications •        OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification •        Prior solar, utility-scale PV, or large-scale outdoor hardware installation experience •        Instrumentation experience — strain gauges, data acquisition systems, calibration •        Forklift or aerial lift certification Benefits Compensation & Benefits This role offers a base salary of $85,000–$95,000 (DOE). Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within each posted range, individual pay is determined based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
