Description
Field Operations Manager Location Remote (U.S.) with occasional travel to customer sites, TurbineOne facilities, demonstrations, and operational events as required. About TurbineOne TurbineOne is building Mission-AI for the Frontlines. Our Frontline Perception System (FPS) helps military and national security operators detect threats, accelerate decision-making, and unlock the power of AI at the tactical edge. We endeavor to build mission-valuable products in command and control, autonomy, and AI-enabled mission systems. We partner directly with frontline users to deliver mission-ready capabilities that work in real-world environments where speed, trust, reliability, and operational resilience matter most. Our team is composed of experienced technologists, veterans, and operators committed to advancing national security through responsible innovation. The Role The Field Operations Manager owns the operational systems that make Field Engineering deployable, repeatable, and scalable. This is a builder role; you will start as an Individual Contributor (IC) with extended team support, responsible for defining the operational models and discipline. Over time, you will build and lead a team to perform these functions. You will partner closely with Field Engineering, Mission Operations, Product, Engineering, Security, BD, and leadership to ensure every field engagement has the right people, equipment, information, and operating cadence to succeed. Core Responsibility Areas Field Engagement Operations: Own the end-to-end operational workflow for Field Engineering from resourcing and readiness to execution and closeout. Maintain the field engagement tracker, validate upcoming requests, and drive pre-deployment planning discipline. Field Hardware: Own the operational readiness of field hardware. Coordinate imaging, configuration, software versioning, testing, and shipping for deployments and demos. Maintain standard loadouts and coordinate with Engineering/IT/DevOps. Field Asset Management: Create and maintain the asset-management system. Track inventory, custody, location, status, and lifecycle management for all field gear. Field Knowledge Management: Own the field knowledge base. Maintain SOPs, checklists, templates, and AARs. Ensure lessons learned are captured and reusable. Field Communications: Own communication rhythms. Translate product updates into field-relevant guidance, coordinate daily SITREPs, and provide operational updates to leadership. Field Enablement: Own the Field Engineering readiness model. Build onboarding pathways, define readiness requirements, and run enablement sessions and assessments to ensure FEs are prepared for mission types and hardware loadouts.   Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience. 4+ years of experience in Field Operations, Technical Enablement, Customer Success, or Systems Engineering, with a specific focus on building and scaling operational systems. 2+ years of experience leading or managing teams (this role transitions from a hands-on IC builder to a team lead). Proven track record of operationalizing informal or ad-hoc processes into repeatable, scalable operating models. Strong proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation, data routing, and operational tooling. Experience supporting production software deployed into mission-critical, disconnected, or hybrid environments. Working understanding of networking, cloud infrastructure, infrastructure-as-code, monitoring, and operational reliability. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to create clear documentation and standardized operating procedures. U.S. Citizenship. Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance. Preferred Active Top Secret or Secret Security Clea
