ABOUT THE TEAM The Recommendation Cross-Channel & Offsite Discovery team is building a platform that empowers marketers to unlock the full potential of multichannel ecommerce discovery. Our service leverages real-time shopper behaviour from website activity to power personalized offsite experiences across multiple channels - including Emails, Push notifications, ads, and more. In a nutshell, we provide real-time personalized experience in static emails and specialize in delivering high-volume traffic (up to 10,000 requests per second). Our goal is to show shoppers what they want, when they want it - boosting engagement, driving revenue, and delivering robust campaign analytics insights at scale. RESPONSIBILITIES As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading and scaling the Offsite Discovery team to build a performant, scalable, reliable, and cost-efficient platform that delivers personalized results beyond the storefront. Specific responsibilities include: - Partner with the Product Manager and other stakeholders to set quarterly goals tied to measurable service and business impact - Guide engineers’ growth by helping them develop new skills, expand ownership, and overcome challenges - Lead the recruiting and hiring processes for your team - Define and execute the team’s engineering strategy - Establish metrics, dashboards, and alerting that make operational health and delivery success transparent - Continuously improve the team’s operational excellence through the team’s tech stack, processes, and tools - Drive measurable improvements in the product capabilities, costs, and performance - Collaborate with neighboring engineering and non-engineering teams, define and maintain clear interfaces and ownership boundaries REQUIREMENTS - 5+ years of software development experience, at least 2 years directly leading engineering teams - Proven record of designing and operating high-load real-time systems in production environments - Proficiency in Python and experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS preferred).
