What You'll Do:
CoreWeave’s Hardware Compute organization is responsible for building, operating, and automating the high-performance hardware cloud that powers the world’s most advanced AI workloads. This Warsaw-based engineering group spans three specialized, hardware-adjacent domains: METAL (owning server hardware infrastructure, fleet provisioning, monitoring, and maintenance at scale), METALDEV (developing the software and automation platforms managing hardware lifecycles and observability), and METALNET (owning high-bandwidth GPU interconnect platforms like NVLink and NVSwitch environments).
About the role:
As an Engineering Manager, your primary mission is to build, staff, and scale a high-performing, multi-disciplinary engineering organization in Warsaw. Reporting to the Director of Compute Architecture, you will manage day-to-day workloads, sprint planning, and project execution across the local METAL, METALDEV, and METALNET domains. This highly cross-functional leadership role requires close collaboration with North American engineering leaders to align local teams with global technical roadmaps, partner with recruiting to attract top-tier talent, and foster a strong engineering culture centered on ownership, accountability, and operational excellence.
Who You Are:
5+ years of experience in hardware, infrastructure, systems, networking, or platform engineering roles within data centre, cloud, or high-performance computing (HPC) environments.
2+ years of direct people management experience, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and developing engineers or emerging team leads.
Proven track record of growing or scaling teams, establishing tailored hiring processes, and onboarding technical talent effectively.
Strong technical depth in one or more of the following: server hardware, firmware/BMC technologies, Linux systems, hardware automation, GPU infrastructure, or HPC networking.
Proven experience leading operational or engineering teams responsible for live production infrastructure at scale.
Strong project and execution management skills, with a track record of building lightweight, effective processes that increase predictability and execution speed.
Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally across engineering, operations, support, supply chain, and data centre functions to resolve complex blockers.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical status, trade-offs, and risks to stakeholders.
Preferred:
Experience standing up a brand-new engineering team or expanding an existing function into a new geography.
Experience managing distributed or multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
Hands-on experience with server fleet operations, hardware qualification, firmware lifecycle management, and production incident response.
Familiarity with BMC technologies and management interfaces such as Redfish or IPMI.
Scripting and automation experience with Python, Go, Bash, Ansible, or similar tooling.
Familiarity with Kubernetes-based services, observability systems, and distributed production environments.
Experience with GPU platforms, NVLink, NVSwitch, InfiniBand, or other high-bandwidth / low-latency interconnect technologies.
