DAVE VS. GOLIATH. WE’RE DAVE. Dave is a financial app on a mission to build products that level the financial playing field. It is redefining the financial landscape by leveraging technology to create an affordable, transparent, and user-centric access to liquidity for millions of Americans. As a leading innovator in the U.S. financial services sector, Dave’s digital financial platform offers products designed to meet the credit needs of those underserved by traditional financial institutions. Dave’s offerings include its flagship ExtraCash product, providing members up to $500 within minutes. The company is on track to launch several new product offerings in 2026, including a Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) option. Dave is focused on serving Americans who are financially vulnerable or living paycheck to paycheck. Dave is leading the charge in creating a new era of credit products that prioritizes speed, affordability, and accessibility, making it the go-to financial partner for those who need it most. ABOUT THE ROLE Dave is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to join our EC Card team. This squad is building a new charge card product that expands how members access ExtraCash — giving them a physical card they can use for everyday purchases. This is a zero-to-one product with meaningful technical and business complexity. You’ll lead a team of engineers building systems that are reliable, scalable, and deeply connected to the member experience. You’ll partner closely with Product, Design, Risk, and peer Engineering teams to shape both the product roadmap and the engineering approach behind it. This role reports to the Senior Engineering Manager. THE OPPORTUNITY As an Engineering Manager at Dave, you’ll help create the environment where strong engineering work and thoughtful collaboration can thrive. You’ll support engineers in their growth while guiding the team through product decisions, technical trade-offs, and evolving priorities. You’ll play an active role in shaping how the EC Card platform is built — from architecture and delivery practices to long-term maintainability and product quality. Not everything will be fully defined, and that’s part of the opportunity. You’ll help connect day-to-day execution to broader member impact and company goals. WHAT YOU’LL BUILD AND OWN - Lead, mentor, and support a team of engineers, helping them grow technically and professionally - Partner with Product Managers and cross-functional stakeholders to shape roadmap priorities and product direction - Drive delivery of scalable, reliable systems that support a high-quality member experience - Collaborate with Lead and Staff Engineers on architecture decisions, engineering standards, and thoughtful prioritization of technical debt - Help the team balance short-term execution with long-term platform health - Create clarity around priorities, trade-offs, and business context so the team understands both the “what” and the “why” - Remove technical and operational blockers that slow down team progress - Contribute to technical discussions and code reviews when needed, maintaining a strong understanding of the systems your team owns - Partner closely with peer Engineering Managers to coordinate launches, experiments, and shared platform investments - Use data and operational metrics to guide decision-making around product performance, reliability, and engineering effectiveness THE IMPACT The EC Card team is building a foundational product that expands access to Dave’s financial tools in a more flexible and everyday way. Your work will directly influence how members interact with Dave and help shape the future of our lending and payments ecosystem. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR EXPERIENCE & TECHNICAL FOUNDATION - Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, or a related technical field. - 6+ years of softw
