About the role
As a Database Engineering Manager, you will have an impact on your team's operations. You will continuously enhance tools and processes for people management while collaborating with others to define new workflows and implement improvements.
What will you be doing?
Managing a multi-member team.
Consistently delivering products in line with established action plans.
Active involvement in day-to-day database administration tasks
Ensuring continuous database availability
Upholding the quality of processes, projects, and systems agreed upon by the team.
Continuously improving both personal and team performance by suggesting and helping implement new processes and engineering best practices.
Effectively communicating progress, achievements, and areas for improvement to team members and management.
Serving as a trusted technical advisor in one or more areas, providing guidance and advice to the team.
Mentoring less experienced database administrators.
Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to define the team’s action plans and manage competing priorities.
Monitoring team engagement and well-being indicators.
Proactively identifying and resolving potential performance challenges within the team.
Supporting the development and career growth of team members.
Participating in recruitment processes.
Advocating for business and technical decisions made by the company within the team.

Proven track record of executing daily database management tasks, managing team capacity, and effectively balancing operational support with project delivery.
Experienced in collaborating with database principals or enterprise architects to successfully implement global security policies, compliance requirements, and engineering standards within your team.
A structured approach to incident management, query performance tracking, and proactive database maintenance is embedded in your professional DNA to ensure high availability for your brands.
Skilled in translating high-level architecture and database designs into actionable tasks, sprints, and clear deliverables for your database engineers.
Experienced in managing database infrastructure within cloud or hybrid environments, ensuring cost-efficiency and operational stability for specific brand workloads.
You believe that neglecting regular team feedback, clear KPIs, and career development paths is a missed opportunity to build a high-performing database engineering team.
