Join us as we inspire our talent with growth, challenge, action and collaboration to Empower Every Possibility!   Title: Engineer II, Facility Location :  Queen Creek, AZ   Summary: The Facility Engineer II will be responsible for overseeing the efficient operation and maintenance of all utility systems and general facility equipment within the battery manufacturing plant. This includes managing critical systems such as electricity, compressed air, water, steam, and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning). The role involves ensuring the reliability of utility services and general facilities in support of production processes and handling associated maintenance activities. Additionally, the engineer will improve utility efficiency, manage external contractors, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.   Responsibilities: Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of all utility systems, including electrical, compressed air, water, steam, and HVAC systems, ensuring they operate efficiently and without any interruptions Monitor utility consumption, identify energy-saving opportunities, and manage utility budgets to reduce costs while maintaining optimal performance of facilities Lead troubleshooting and resolution of utility issues and general facility maintenance items. Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence Provide technical information regarding production or processing techniques, materials, properties, and process advantages and limitations that affect long-term planning Select and coordinate with external contractors and vendors for utility-related services; including maintenance, repairs and system upgrades Negotiate contracts and manage service agreements Ensure minimal production interruptions by ensuring safe and timely resolution to planned and unplanned outages  Maintain accurate records of utility systems' performances, maintenance schedules, work orders and compliance documentations Regularly report on utility performance to senior management Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container Ensure work is completed in a safe manner and maintain a safe work environment Perform other duties as assigned   Qualifications and Requirements:  Minimum of 3 years of facilities experience in production/plant environment Bachelor’s or higher degree in engineering or related field required Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) experience * Preferred but not required Six Sigma certification * Preferred but not required Experience with DOE (Design of experiments) * Preferred but not required Experience using CAD (Computer-aided design) and coding * Preferred but not required Must be able to properly and regularly utilize the following Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for a period of up to 12 hours Safety glasses Steel-toed shoes Must be able to do perform the following over the course of up to 12 hours per day Lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds on occasion Stoop, twist, bend Reach overhead Stand for lengthy periods Skills: Microsoft Office Suite Strong verbal and written communication skills   Why should you work here? 1.
