Job Summary The ELV Assistant Technician is responsible for supporting the installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems. The role requires good technical knowledge of ELV systems including CCTV, Structured Cabling, Public Address (PA) systems, Access Control systems, and Audio systems. The position involves assisting senior technicians, ensuring work is carried out in accordance with technical standards, safety requirements, and project timelines. . AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY & BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES Technical Support & Assistance Assist ELV technicians and engineers during installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities. Support day-to-day site activities related to ELV system deployment. Cabling & Installation Support Assist with structured cabling works, including cable pulling, routing, termination, labeling, and dressing. Support installation of conduits, trunking, and cable management systems.. ELV Equipment Setup Assist in the installation and basic configuration of CCTV cameras, access control panels, intercom systems, and other ELV devices. Support mounting and fixing of ELV equipment as per drawings and instructions. Testing & Inspection Perform basic testing and inspections to verify proper operation of ELV systems. Report faults, discrepancies, or non-conformities to senior technicians or engineers. Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate records of work performed, including cable labeling, equipment lists, and installation reports. Assist in updating as-built drawings and handover documentation when required Safety & Housekeeping Follow site safety rules, method statements, and toolbox talk instructions. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe, clean, and organized condition. To Be Successful as an ELV Assistant Technician To be successful as an ELV Assistant Technician, candidates should demonstrate strong hands-on technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to support ELV installation activities on construction sites. The role involves assisting in the installation, testing, and maintenance of Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems, including CCTV, Access Control, Fire Alarm, PA, Structured Cabling, and related systems. The ELV Assistant Technician works closely with Site Engineers and technicians to ensure installations are completed safely, accurately, and in accordance with approved drawings, quality standards, and project timelines. The role requires a disciplined approach to site work, adherence to safety procedures, effective teamwork, and a willingness to learn and develop technical skills while contributing to smooth project execution. Key Qualifications & Skills • Technical or electrical diploma (2-year degree) or completion of an electrical apprenticeship • 2–4 years of experience in ELV installations or construction site support • Basic technical knowledge of CCTV, Access Control, Fire Alarm, PA, and Structured Cabling systems • Ability to assist with cable pulling, device installation, termination, and testing activities • Experience in using hand and power tools, soldering, and fault-testing equipment • Understanding of ELV testing procedures and inspection requireme
