Description
We are recruiting an Electrical Engineer – Utility-Scale Solar Projects on behalf of our client, a global leader in EPC and O&M services for utility-scale solar power plants. As their project pipeline in Romania expands, this hands-on role will join the on-site execution team in Arad. In this role, you will oversee and support all electrical installation activities for large-scale PV projects — covering DC and AC systems, MV/HV infrastructure, inverters, transformers, and grid connection works — ensuring safe, timely, and compliant execution in line with technical specifications, IEC standards, and grid operator requirements. This role is project-based for approximately 2 years , with the possibility of extension. Main Responsibilities Site Execution & Supervision Supervise installation of DC systems: strings, DC cables, connectors, combiner boxes Coordinate AC LV/MV works: inverters, LV/MV panels, transformers Support MV/HV installation works: cables, terminations, substations, switchgear Supervise grounding and bonding systems Ensure compliance with approved electrical drawings and layouts Coordinate with mechanical completion for stringing readiness Coordinate with civil teams for trenches, cable routes, and equipment foundations Quality & Technical Control Review IFC drawings, single-line diagrams, and electrical documentation Ensure compliance with technical specifications and OEM requirements Supervise testing activities: continuity and insulation tests (Megger), string testing (IV curve), MV/HV equipment testing Support energization and synchronization activities Assist in QA/QC inspections and management of NCRs and corrective actions Subcontractor Coordination Supervise electrical subcontractors and installation teams Monitor DC/AC cabling progress and equipment installation Ensure compliance with Method Statements and HSE standards Monitor productivity and execution quality Support subcontractor performance evaluation Planning & Reporting Monitor daily and weekly installation progress Support sequencing of works (DC → AC → MV → HV) Report installed quantities and project progress Identify bottlenecks, missing equipment, and execution risks Support recovery plans to maintain the project schedule Testing, Commissioning & Grid Connection Support pre-commissioning activities Participate in commissioning and energization Assist during synchronization and grid compliance tests Coordinate with inverter, transformer, and equipment suppliers Support PAC / FAC activities and final handover HSE & Site Coordination Ensure safe execution of all electrical activities Monitor high-risk operations such as energization and live works Participate in toolbox talks and electrical risk assessments Coordinate closely with the Mechanical and Civil teams Candidate Profile Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Power Engineering 3–5 years’ experience in construction or industrial projects; utility-scale solar is a strong advantage Solid knowledge of MV/HV systems, substations, power distribution, PV systems, inverters, transformers, and protections Fluent English; confident with MS Office and reading electrical drawings (AutoCAD) Strong coordination and organizational skills; practical, site-oriented mindset Proactive problem-solver with strong communication and teamwork abilities Comfortable working in multicultural environments Nice to Have Experience with SCADA and PPC systems Experience with grid operator requirements (TSO / DSO) ANRE authorization Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
