OVERVIEW The eDiscovery Data Management Specialist is responsible for managing operational and data governance activities throughout the eDiscovery matter lifecycle. This role oversees case closures and defensible data disposition processes, including chain-of-custody documentation, media handling, and the distribution of certificates of destruction. The specialist also performs routine platform and infrastructure maintenance, monitors storage utilization and capacity, enforces data retention policies, and coordinates the cleanup and archival of legacy data. Working closely with IT, project managers and technical teams, the role helps ensure the security, integrity, and regulatory compliance of eDiscovery environments while supporting efficient day-to-day operations. DESCRIPTION · Manage eDiscovery matter and case closure activities. · Coordinate data disposition, archival, and destruction processes. · Maintain chain-of-custody records and media handling documentation. · Generate and distribute Certificates of Destruction (CODs). · Monitor and enforce data retention and governance policies. · Analyze and perform storage capacity reviews and data cleanup activities. · Conduct scheduled platform and infrastructure maintenance. · Perform data migration (imports and exports) between platforms. · Collaborate with IT, compliance, and technical teams to ensure secure and efficient eDiscovery operations. REQUIRED SKILLS · Strong organization skills and exceptional attention to detail · Ability to multi-task, prioritize incoming requests, and adapt on-the-fly when the requirements change without any loss in the work product’s quality · Maintain a sense of urgency and take ownership · Ability to perform under tight deadlines · Ability to thrive in a team environment and also be an individual contributor · Solid communication skills, both verbal and written · Able to work independently and perform self-training · Aptitude to quickly learn and master new software, applications, tools, and processes · Retention of instructional training and procedures · Proactive not reactive approach to work · Able to work at high efficiency in a fast-paced environment · Highly proficient with text editors such as TextPad, WordPad, or NotePad++ · Familiarity with disk space management & analysis tool such as Treesize REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS · Bachelor’s Degree in related field, a strong technical background is helpful · Highly analytical, enjoys working with technology and new applications development · Experience running queries or performing data manipulation and clean-up · Knowledge of different operating systems such as Windows & Linux · Experience with using GitBash, PuTTY, CMD, PowerShell or similar command-line tool for windows running Linux-style commands · �
