As part of the NATO Command Structure and reporting to Supreme Allied Commander Transformation (SACT) , the JWC directly supports both SACT and Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) by strengthening the operational readiness, interoperability, and effectiveness of NATO Command and Force Structure Headquarters. Through its multinational workforce, the Centre plays a critical role in preparing the Alliance for current and emerging security challenges. The department we are supporting is responsible for the planning, preparation, and execution of operational and strategic-level exercises and training activities , while integrating warfare development, experimentation, concept development, and lessons learned into NATO's training programmes. By delivering technologically integrated, multi-domain exercises and maintaining joint doctrine and standards, the JWC enhances NATO's decision-making capabilities, interoperability, and warfighting readiness, ensuring the Alliance remains prepared to respond effectively across the full spectrum of military operations. Role ID  –   IFIB-ACT-JWC-26-08- 1.2   Role Background   This role supports the technical infrastructure underpinning NEC CCIS, a NATO-owned Air C2 system used across the NATO Command and Force Structure. The successful candidate will help maintain existing hybrid/on-premise infrastructure while contributing to the System Support Centre's transition toward containerised, cloud-deployable operations.   Role Duties and Responsibilities     Design, implement, and maintain hybrid/on-premise DevOps infrastructure   Configure tools and scripts to automate infrastructure tasks, including adherence to security policy   Monitor load, performance, and security metrics using infrastructure management tools   Investigate and resolve operational and security-related issues, and report on proposed improvements   Contribute to planning and implementation of infrastructure maintenance, updates, and changes   Advise on and participate in the transformation of the application from a traditional to a cloud-deployable architecture   Essential Skills, Experience and Certifications   Minimum 5 years' experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or software development   Strong experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, or similar   Proficiency with Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi, or similar   Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell)   Experience deploying and orchestrating containerised applications (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes)
