[What you will be working on]
We are seeking a Data Engineer to join our team.
You will be deployed at a government agency identified as a strategic partner for GovTech, and part of its data team to oversee the agency’s overall structure of its data ecosystems, define the data architecture vision and establish frameworks and standards on how data is collected and integrated. You will work closely with central GovTech products and platforms teams, vendors and the business stakeholders in the agency. The role requires an individual with data architecture and data engineering experience, as well as leadership and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Infrastructure and Data Pipeline Development
Design and maintain enterprise data architecture, including data models, integration frameworks, and storage solutions based on business requirements.
Govern schema design standards and data integrations across multiple source systems while collaborating with stakeholders like system engineers, vendors and business units.
Architect and build data pipelines while ensuring data is well-structured for analysis and reporting.
Performance Optimisation
Optimise system and pipeline performance through ongoing monitoring and implementation of scalable solutions designed to handle expanding data volumes and growing organisational demands.
Leadership & Collaboration
Lead and collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, analysts, infrastructure teams, and vendors to understand data requirements and ensure that data systems are scalable, reliable, and aligned with business objectives.
Lead architecture reviews and provide technical guidance to project teams.
Data Governance and Quality
Maintain data quality, integrity, security and compliance standards across data systems
Oversee documentations required for system architecture design and technical specifications.
[What we are looking for]
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience in data architecture and data engineering, with a demonstrated track record of successfully in delivering Singapore Government large-scale project implementations.
Minimum 3 to 5 years of Experience in cloud technologies such as AWS infrastructure and native AWS tools (CloudWatch and Glue).
Minimum 3 to 5 years of Experience in data modelling, data access, and data storage infrastructure including Data Lake, Data Virtualisation, and Data Warehouse for efficient sto
