Description
As New Zealand’s largest integrated apple grower, Mr Apple continues to invest in technology as our operations evolve across the horticulture sector.   With further growth in our Data Team, we’re looking for another Data Engineer who is motivated by working in a collaborative environment where you’ll get broad exposure to building and maintaining data pipelines, working with modern data platforms and contributing to how data is used across the business.     What you’ll be doing:   As one of our data engineers, you’ll contribute to the planning, building, and optimisation of our data pipelines across systems, databases, and our cloud data platform. You’ll design scalable, resilient data solutions and play a key role in shaping how data is used across the organisation.    You will help improve data reliability, accessibility, and performance, while supporting the wider business with data-driven solutions.    Your day-to-day work will include:   Building, monitoring, and maintaining data pipelines across cloud platforms, Azure, Snowflake, and a range of SaaS applications   Supporting the development of scalable and reliable data solutions    Working closely with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver practical and technical solutions    Communicating clearly with both technical and nontechnical teams   Applying strong problem-solving skills to improve processes and drive efficiencies   Writing and optimising queries to support business reporting and insights    Contributing to ongoing improvement in processes, performance, and data quality    What you’ll bring:   Practical experience writing code - Python preferred (.NET / C# considered).   Practical experience with cloud platforms - Azure preferred (AWS or GCP considered).   Practical experience with SQL.   Ability to work within a team and collaborate with stakeholders across the business.   Eligibility to work in New Zealand, full-time in Hawke’s Bay.   What we offer:   A future focused team of passionate technologists   Ongoing training and upskilling opportunities   Exposure to leading technologies and modern data tooling   The opportunity to work in a small, collaborative team with broad scope   Flexibility to balance work and life    If you’re excited about delivering high-quality data solutions in a business that produces world ‑ class apples, we’d love to hear from you.
