About the role Node4 own and operate multiple data centres, maintaining full end-to-end control of infrastructure and operations. This enables us to deliver highly reliable, flexible and customer-focused services. Data Centre Engineers operate within a critical 24x7 environment, supporting infrastructure availability, customer services, and operational excellence. The role focuses on the day to day tasks and activities, supporting customers, internal departments, monitoring our infrastructure and new order delivery. The role is based on a 40 hour week onsite and oncall is required on a rota basis. How this role delivers Node4 value: Innovation Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce risk, and enhance service delivery Passion Take pride in maintaining high standards across all operational areas Trust Act with accountability when managing critical infrastructure and customer environments Responsibilities The role covers many aspects within the Data Centre facility, the below are typical tasks and responsibilities that engineers complete: • Monitor infrastructure and respond to alerts, ensuring timely resolution or escalation • Support customers onsite and via remote hands in line with SLAs • Maintain site security and supervise access • Install racks, structured cabling, and cross-connects • Supervise third-party contractors • Complete tickets and operational tasks efficiently • Maintain high standards of safety, cleanliness, and compliance • Occasional travel to cover our Northampton/Wakefield Data Centers What will you bring? Experience working in a Data Centre or technical environment Certified Data Centre Technician (CDCT) qualification or equivalent (desirable) Knowledge of cabling, infrastructure, or facilities Understanding of monitoring systems (BMS/DCIM desirable) Strong attention to detail and reliability Strong outcome focused approach to delivering excellent customer service Ability to work independently and within a team Full UK driving license and own car. Resides within 45 minutes of site (Derby DE24) Ability to be part of an oncall rota What can we offer you?
