Description
About Gnosis Pay Gnosis Pay provides the API and card-program infrastructure that enables wallets, fintechs, and businesses to issue stablecoin-powered payment cards and create custom payment flows. Partners can easily connect on-chain wallets to real-world spending. With our technology, users can spend stablecoins directly from their on-chain wallet using a Visa debit card. Transactions are executed through a secure smart-wallet rather than a traditional bank account, allowing users to retain full custody of their assets while paying anywhere Visa is accepted. About the role and vision We are seeking an execution-focused and visionary CTO to lead our engineering team, scale our technical operations, and steer the development of our groundbreaking Web3-to-traditional payments bridge. As the CTO, you will transition the engineering team from early-stage delivery into a highly structured, scalable, and predictable product-engineering engine. In this role, you will sit at the intersection of cutting-edge blockchain mechanics (self-custody, smart contract execution, on-chain flows) and traditional financial systems (Visa rails, banking infrastructure, settlement, and compliance). You will be a key strategic partner to the executive team, ensuring our technical architecture perfectly aligns with our ambitious commercial goals. People Leadership & Organizational Scaling Engineering Culture & Growth: Direct and scale a high-performing engineering organization. Cultivate an engineering culture rooted in technical rigor, accountability, trust, and continuous improvement. Talent Acquisition & Retention: Lead strategic recruiting efforts to attract, hire, and retain top-tier talent in both the Web3 and traditional fintech/payments spaces. Define, implement, and maintain clear performance evaluation metrics and coaching systems. Resource Allocation: Optimize team structures and cross-functional alignments to ensure efficient execution of the product roadmap while managing technical debt. Stakeholder Management & Strategic Partnerships Executive Alignment: Partner closely with the C-level and other executive leaders to translate business objectives into a comprehensive, multi-year technical roadmap. External Partnerships: Serve as the primary technical liaison with critical external partners, including card schemes (Visa), issuing banks, payment processors, compliance/audit firms, and key Web3 ecosystems. Regulatory & Compliance Interface: Collaborate with Legal and Compliance teams to ensure our architecture meets the stringent security and regulatory demands of global payment networks and local financial jurisdictions. Board & Investor Relations: Clearly articulate the technology strategy, risk mitigation plans, and architectural milestones to the board and internal non-technical stakeholders. Strategic Technical Vision & Architectural Governance Technical Strategy: Define and champion the long-term technical vision of Gnosis Pay, balancing cutting-edge Web3 innovations with the robustness of institutional payment rails. Architectural Oversight: Establish architectural guardrails and high-level system design standards. Ensure our core payment services remain highly available, secure, fault-tolerant, and performant at a global scale. Domain-Driven Design (DDD): Champion the continued application of DDD principles to model complex financial domains (such as authorization, settlement, and disputes) within a modern, language-agnostic architecture. Tech Stack Evolution: Oversee major platform transformations, migrations, and key technology decisions, particularly regarding our core Go and TypeScript-based infrastructure. Operational & Delivery Excellence SDLC & Quality Standards: Establish and enforce modern software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes, automated testing strategies, and rigorous code-review sta
