CONTRACTOR: CORPORATE SECURITY TECHNOLOGY & DATA ENGINEER
Length: 6mo to start (room for extension)
Location: Remote - US
ABOUT THE TEAM
Corporate Security protects OpenAI’s people, places, operations, and leadership. The team supports a wide range of work across executive protection, protective intelligence, GSOC, events, investigations, risk, resilience, travel security, and security technology.
As OpenAI scales, Corporate Security is building more advanced ways to understand risk, measure performance, automate workflows, and give leaders real-time visibility into what is happening across the function.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a contractor to help Corporate Security build a best-in-class technology, data, and dashboard ecosystem using OpenAI tools including ChatGPT, Codex, agents, and other automation capabilities.
Today, teams across Corporate Security are experimenting with their own Codex, ChatGPT, and automation projects. This role will help connect those efforts into one cohesive vision. You will partner with every Corporate Security team to understand their workflows, data, metrics, and long-term goals, then build the systems that bring everything together at the Corporate Security level.
This is a hands-on technical role for someone who can think strategically, build quickly, and care deeply about data quality. The goal is not just to create dashboards, but to ensure the right data is flowing cleanly through the right systems so Corporate Security leaders can make faster, better decisions.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL
- Partner with teams across Corporate Security to understand their operational workflows, data sources, reporting needs, and automation goals.
- Build best-in-class dashboards and metrics that provide real-time visibility into Corporate Security operations, performance, risks, and program health.
- Use ChatGPT, Codex, agents, APIs, and automation tools to build scalable internal tools and workflows.
- Create a unified technical vision that connects team-level projects into a broader Corporate Security data and technology ecosystem.
- Assess current data sources and workflows, identify gaps, and improve the quality, consistency, and reliability of data.
- Design clean data pipelines and reporting structures across systems such as Airtable, Ontic, Jira, Asana, Google Workspace, and other Corporate Security tools.
- Build prototypes quickly, test with users, and iterate toward production-ready solutions.
- Help establish data standards, governance practices, and repeatable patterns for future Corporate Security technology builds.
- Translate ambiguous business needs into clear technical requirements and practical solutions.
- Serve as a technical partner to Corporate Security leadership on dashboards, automation, AI-enabled workflows, and data strategy.
YOU MIGHT THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU
- Have strong experience building dashboards, data products, internal tools, or automation systems in complex operating environments.
- Are comfortable working with ambiguous requirements and turning them into simple, scalable technical solutions.
- Have experience integrating systems through APIs, scripts, databases, and automation platforms.
- Care about data quality and know that dashboards are only as good as the data behind them.
- Can partner with non-technical stakeholders and quickly understand how their work actually happens.
- Are excited about using AI tools like ChatGPT, Codex, and agents to improve real-world operations.
- Can move between strategy and execution, from designing the architecture to building the actual workflow.
- Have strong judgment around privacy, access control, and responsible handling of sensitive operational data.
- Are highly organized, self-directed, and able to drive work across multiple stakeholders.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, software engine
