Description
ON.energy is building the power infrastructure that makes the AI era possible. As AI demand surges past what the grid and traditional data centers can support, ON.energy provides a new class of power technology proven at gigawatt scale and trusted by the world’s leading cloud and AI companies. Our systems are already deployed across 2.5 GW of hyper-scale campuses, validated by top U.S. national labs, and certified for grid-safe operation by major utilities. With real products in the field, we’re scaling faster than the grid can, transforming power from a bottleneck into a competitive advantage for the companies building the future. Our R&D team is looking for an Electronics Engineer, Electrical Engineer, or related professional with a passion for mathematical modeling and advanced control systems to join our Modeling and Control Strategies team. We are seeking a cutting-edge technical profile focused on robust classical control theory, dynamic modeling of physical systems, and a strong orientation toward laboratory testing and validation. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  Design, simulate, and implement advanced control strategies and mathematical modeling for non-linear dynamic systems. Work at the intersection of power electronics and renewable energy systems (inverters, microgrids, battery energy storage systems - BESS). Apply System Identification techniques for controller optimization and parameter estimation. Actively participate in simulation, prototyping, and real-time testing phases within internal and external laboratories. Collaborate closely with a highly qualified technical and academic multidisciplinary team. EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS Education: B.S./M.S. in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields (Mandatory). Postgraduate: Current student or graduate of a Master’s in Automation and Control (or similar postgraduate programs). Strong foundation in power electronics, power systems, and their dynamics. Mathematical modeling, state-space variables, and system identification. Proficiency in Matlab / Simulink and Python applied to control systems and simulation. Languages: Professional fluency in English (technical reading and fluent communication). Location & Availability: Preferably residing in Buenos Aires and surrounding areas. Candidates living in other regions of Argentina must be available to travel for agreed-upon face-to-face meetings. Availability to travel to the various projects and internal/external laboratories we collaborate with. Knowledge or experience in Machine Learning techniques applied to control optimization or system identification. Proficiency in specific simulation tools and development environments: PSCAD, LabVIEW,and PSIM (or similar). Experience or knowledge in simulation and validation methodologies: MIL (Model-in the-Loop), SIL (Software-in-the-Loop), PHIL (Power Hardware-in-the-Loop), CHIL (Controller Hardware-in-the-Loop), and Alpha Testing. Experience with RCP (Rapid-Control-Prototyping) techniques. Experience or strong interest in renewable energy (solar, wind, battery systems). Practical experience with Real-Time Systems and laboratory testing/trials.     For US-based roles - What you’ll get: Competitive salary + annual performance-based bonus eligibility Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off and company holidays  For Mexico-based roles - What you’ll get: Competitive salary + annual performance bonus eligibility Christmas Bonus (Aguinaldo): 30 days Major medical expenses and life insurance Paid time off and holidays (per local policy) For all roles: Professional development and growth opportunities Opportunity to grow with a mission-driven team shaping the future of clean energy Equal Opportunity: ON.energy is committed to equal employment opportunity and to maintaining a work envir
