Description
Who:  HealtheConnections, a respected national leader in providing health information exchange (HIE) services for NYS-based organizations.   What:  Hiring new team members with a background in healthcare, health information technology (HIT), or clinical data quality to help us ensure complete, accurate, and reliable data is available through our health information exchange.   Why:  This data comes from thousands of healthcare facilities across NYS, collected in our regional network that supports health and care professionals in our community to provide great care. The Data Quality Analyst role is perfect for someone who has a strong understanding of clinical data and may have worked in a hospital or clinical practice or at an EMR company, such as a clinical data analyst, health information management specialist, or medical billing and claims specialist.   You’ll apply this knowledge by reviewing and cleaning up information flows with a variety of team members and partners, including some of the largest and most multi-faceted healthcare systems in the country. This means working with customers, EMR and other HIT vendors, and internal team members to review new and audit existing data feeds, investigate and troubleshoot issues, communicate corrections, and more.   We're looking for someone who can manage their own work, believes in careful attention to standards and structure, but also understands the importance of collaborating with a diverse team. Most importantly, the right candidate will be excited to join a performance-oriented culture where your contributions are valued, and our mission makes a real difference in our community.   Talk to us to see if this is a fit for you!   Primary Responsibilities   Interpret and troubleshoot issues found in healthcare data, including HL7 messages and FHIR Resources.   Identify data quality improvement opportunities based on analysis, trends, and programmatic requirements.    Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to implement solutions that bolster data quality, completeness, and accuracy.    Support data hygiene practices that ensure information remains accurate, consistent, and secure across organizational systems and databases.   Competencies & Experience   Experience working within the healthcare or HIT industry required.   2-year degree or higher in HIT, Healthcare, Computer Science, or related field. Equivalent experience and certifications will also be considered.   2+ years’ professional experience working with clinical data preferred.   Experience working with healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7, FHIR,  CCD/CCD-A, and terminology standards preferred.    Familiarity with SQL, database concepts, and data analysis tools like Tableau.   Ability to work independently and balance competing priorities and complex situations.   Excellent analytical skills; critical thinking.   Not sure you meet all qualifications? Research shows that women and members of other under-represented groups tend to not apply to jobs when they think they may not meet every qualification, when, in fact, they do! We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment and strongly encourage you to apply.       At HealtheConnections, we believe hiring should be personal. Every application is reviewed by a member of our team. We do not rely on AI to determine which candidates are considered for our opportunities.   You’re a great fit for us if you’re&n
