Description
Drive technical direction and execution in complex defence programs Build with purpose. Own the stack. Do you want to take technical ownership of complex, mission-critical programs delivered to defence and security customers? Do you thrive at the intersection of architecture, engineering execution and customer dialogue, where technical decisions directly affect delivery, performance, risk and operational outcomes? And do you enjoy acting as a trusted advisor to both customers and senior stakeholders, creating clarity and direction in technically complex environments? As Technical Program Lead at Chora, you will be the senior technical authority across complex programs, ensuring technical integrity from early customer dialogue through architecture, integration, validation and delivery. You will work at the intersection of customer needs, engineering execution and program delivery, playing a key role in translating requirements into coherent, feasible and deliverable solutions. The role As Technical Program Lead, you will hold senior technical responsibility across architecture, requirements, integration, validation and acceptance in complex programs. You will collaborate closely with customers, engineering teams and senior leadership to ensure that technical decisions are aligned, feasible and grounded in operational needs. Acting as a trusted advisor to both customers and internal stakeholders, you will help shape technical direction, manage risks and ensure successful delivery across programs. The position reports directly to the COO and is part of Chora’s Technology & Architecture governance forum. The role combines technical program ownership with hands-on involvement in key decisions, trade-offs and solution design. You will ensure that architecture and execution remain aligned across the full lifecycle and use your technical judgement to create clarity across multiple stakeholders in complex environments. This is a senior individual contributor role with significant technical authority and customer exposure. Key responsibilities Your main responsibilities will be to: Own end-to-end technical integrity across architecture, requirements, integration, validation and acceptance Ensure coherent solutions across teams, systems, suppliers and delivery phases Act as technical advisor to customers and translate needs into solution designs, roadmaps and pilots Drive key technical decisions and trade-offs across scope, timeline, quality, performance and risk Ensure alignment across software, infrastructure, networks, data flows and security Identify, document and mitigate technical risks, assumptions and cross-project dependencies The position is based at Chora’s headquarters in Aarhus. Expected travel activity is approximately 30–60 days per year. Your profile You bring strong experience as a senior technical lead in complex — and preferably mission-critical — environments. You are comfortable working across customers, engineering teams and leadership, and you can create direction through influence rather than formal authority. We expect that you: Have 10+ years of experience in software, communications technology, systems engineering or system integration Have held senior technical roles such as Chief Engineer, Principal Engineer, System Architect, Lead Architect or similar Have a proven track record of owning technical direction and system-level decisions across complex programs Are experienced in translating customer needs into technical solutions, roadmaps and deliverables Have worked with system integration, suppliers and external partners in complex deliveries Can challenge assumptions, manage trade-offs and create clarity in technically and commercially complex environments You likely hold a master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related field.
