As the manager of Grandmother Café and Breakfast in Amsterdam City,  you will protect two distinct, soul-filled spaces by fostering "grandmother" energy, a rebellious mix of warmth and genuine care. This isn't about managing a shift; it’s about orchestrating an experience where guests feel seen and members feel they truly belong. You will lead a team of originals, casting for character and stories while providing the structure they need to perform with total confidence. By balancing your gut instinct with smart data, you keep service consistent and safe without ever letting it feel robotic. If you believe the best hospitality comes from being your unapologetic self, we should talk.    Meet Grandmother   She's warm, nostalgic and familiar. She's also tattooed, loud, and dances to disco vinyl while stirring the soup. By day, Grandmother Café is comforting deli-style food, artisan coffee and counter service that feels like walking into your abuela's kitchen. By late afternoon, when the music hits, the soup station becomes a DJ booth, and our monthly day parties become the stuff of neighborhood legend.   Here's the twist that makes this role genuinely unlike anything else in hospitality:  we recruit real, local grandmothers,  to work the counter alongside the team. Baking, chatting, handing out cookies at afternoon tea, being the most authentic, unscripted, un-trainable form of hospitality there is. You won't just manage baristas and supervisors here. You'll help lead actual grandmothers, and protect the soul they bring to the room.   Meet Sunny   Sunny opens the day with The Social Hub's breakfast, shifts into a hub for meals and breaks through the afternoon, and occasionally lights up at night with pop-ups and events. It's the space that adapts to whatever the day needs, but never loses that feeling of being considered, not catered. Based in the most iconic cities across Europe and moving toward a global future, we are building a place where community isn't just a buzzword, it's the reason we open the doors every morning.   What You’ll Do   Lead with presence on the floor, setting the tone across both Grandmother Café and Breakfast (and M&E, in Sunny).   Cast your team through creative "auditions" like bake-offs and social sessions to find the realest personalities.   Coach your crew to show up as their authentic selves rather than performing a script.   Balance the cozy, intimate, rebellious energy of Grandmother Café with the flexible, community-driven atmosphere of Breakfast (and M&E, in Sunny).   Trust your intuition to adjust the lighting, music and flow of the room in real time.   Keep the operational foundations solid so the team has the freedom to focus on the guests.   Create structure and clarity so your team can perform with confidence.   Keep service consistent without making it feel ri
