As a BMS (Battery Management System) Senior Hardware Engineer you will have the exciting opportunity of working in a group that develops state-of-the-art solutions to improve existing and/or deliver new Lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery products. The role revolves around the design and industrialization of all electronic circuitry associated with a modern Li-ion battery and/or an Energy Storage System (ESS). Indicative day-to-day tasks include, but are not restricted to, the design, simulating, prototyping, testing and debugging of Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBA). The role is based in our Athens HQ, and reports to BMS Software & Hardware Manager. Key activities and responsibilities of this role include: Designs and optimizes electronic circuits, defines technical specifications and architectures, and ensures performance, reliability, and alignment with product requirements and the company’s technological direction Schematic capture and PCB layout design Leads Hardware Test Plan preparation and execution including Hardware regression and Hardware-in-the-Loop testing Component selection and test-setup creation Prototypes bring-up, testing, debugging and design verification Execute component and system-level simulations and modeling Safeguard compliance to IEC/UL standards and regulatory requirements Produce and maintain documentation per testing and certification processes Collaborate in a team environment across multiple engineering disciplines Contributing to the improvement of current and development of next-generation Sunlight Energy battery storage systems Communicating with suppliers and external partners Requirements University Degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering or related field At least 5 years of experience as an Electronics Engineer, Embedded Hardware Engineer, Hardware Testing and Verification Engineer or similar role in the industry Solid understanding of relevant engineering standards, protocols and regulatory environment in the Global markets Experience with PCBA Functional test methods for design verification, regression testing Familiarity with Functional Testing and In-Circuit Testing for production Experience with Switching-Mode Power Supplies (SMPS) (e.g. DC-DC converters) Experience with Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools (e.g. Altium) Experience with circuit simulation and mo
