Our GSaaS solutions have been recognized by the market for their efficiency, security, and effectiveness in supporting different applications, from remote sensing to IoT communications.  BACKEND SOFTWARE DEVELOPER Leaf Space is seeking a Backend Software Developer to design, build, and maintain core services of our GSaaS platform. The role focuses on backend systems, APIs, and data workflows supporting satellite operations. You will translate requirements into scalable solutions, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and deliver high-quality features aligned with product vision and customer needs in a modern, cloud-based environment. RESPONSIBILITIES Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services, including technical documentation Ensure code quality through reviews, testing, and adherence to best practices Develop new features in close collaboration with other developers Contribute to architectural and technical decisions with a focus on long-term sustainability QUALIFICATIONS AND STUDIES Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field Technical Skills 3-5 years of experience as a backend software developer Proficiency in Python Experience with REST APIs (FastAPI) and relational databases (MySQL) Experience with Docker and Kubernetes Experience with Version Control Systems (GIT) Previous experience working in critical environments Soft Skills English is our working language — professional proficiency required Good communication skills Cross-team collaboration Understanding and addressing end-user needs Nice to have Familiarity with Cloud environments Passion for the Space Industry and related environment Familiarity with Agile/Scrum Knowledge of Design Patterns and SOLID principles Knowledge of GitLab CI/CD WHAT WE OFFER A flat and collaborative organizational structure A fast‑paced and professional environment within a rapidly growing space scale‑up Challenging projects with real impact on the global space ecosystem An international and diverse workplace Comprehensive benefits, welfare, meal vouchers, hybrid work policy to support work‑life balance, training courses COMPENSATION & TRANSPARENCY Reports to: Tech Lead Services Seniority level: Experienced Professional Job location: Lomazzo (Como), Italy (hybrid work policy) Salary range: 35-40K Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package including welfare platform and meal vouchers (Italy)
