As we grow, we’re looking to attract high-potential individuals who want to be part of a winning team. If that’s you, come join us https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/mangomint!
ABOUT THE ROLE
We're hiring an Associate Creative Director to run the creative for Mangomint and its sub-brands, managing continuity and helping steer their voices. This is a copy-first role for someone who still loves to write, but can also stand over a design or a cut and make it better. You'll own the words and provide direction on the visuals. You will not be a manager who forgot how to make things.
You'll report directly to the VP of Marketing. Together you'll help set the top-line creative vision, and you’ll be trusted to run with the majority of day-to-day decisions, with the VP there to help unblock you and provide air cover, not to hover.
You also aren't a one-person band. You'll work with a copywriter, a video team, Mangomint’s in-house brand designers, agency partners, and contractor support, plus a Creative Ops lead running traffic. Your job is to lead and elevate, not to be the only one making.
To be clear, this role is not:
- A pure director role. If you're done making, this isn't it
- A solo IC gig. You'll manage, mentor, and direct others
- A performance marketing gig - we want creative, big thinking, and executions that resonate with our audience
- A place to get that super bowl ad (yet 😉), we operate professionally-scrappy but with budgets
- One flat brand. Mangomint has range — sub-brands and audiences with their own texture you'll have to hold together
In this role you will:
- Own brand voice and copy across Mangomint and its sub-brands: campaigns, DMs, web, email, events, launches
- Own art direction for video and design: you don't have to be the designer, but you have to have the eye and give notes that land
- Own campaign creative direction end-to-end: concept, brief, kickoff, feedback, sign-off with support from the VP of Marketing and the internal Design org
- Own quality bar for everything the Creative Studio ships. Living voice guides. Consistency without sameness. Channel-specific tone and language
- Lead a Copywriter - direct report; you'll provide a balance of craft mentorship and the autonomy to get the work done
- Lead a Sr. Video Production Manager: direct report; you'll offer creative direction and support with space to continue managing their team, content, and process effectively
- Lead creative direction (not management) over our internal brand designer and our agency partners' output
- You'll partner side-by-side with our Creative Ops lead, who runs traffic and process across the full marketing org, not just the Studio. You run the work; she runs the machine
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- A recently minted ACD, or a senior copywriter ready to step up. Hungry for sure. Experienced thought; that doesn't have to mean tenured. We're not looking for a 10-year CD who stopped writing five years ago
- Fast and confident on the page. You can articulate why a line works, not just that it tested well. You understand channel-specificity and move cleanly between performance, campaign, and brand
- Range across audiences and format
